the voice of the tango... Marina Cedro
You can see Marina Cedro singing in the Gran Vía of Bilbao (Basque Country, Spain): She is small, she has that clear glance as those who use to observe an infinite river, but when staying in a stage she acquires both, an stature and power that impose. She establishes almost religious bows with the audience, probably because of the truthfulness she transmits, her genuinity. Each tango she signs is a story she enters into, with all the intensity, assuming all the risks. That is why she can make us to participate in her world of affections despite some words or turns significance may result obscure to somebody. Her voice warm, even in the snatch, and she has a quick sense of the time, attacked in the appropiate moment, something which is not the result of the apprenticeship but of the feeling. She is one that knows that which can´t be taught... I hope that the tango is not the last breathing for Argentina. 2003-07-02.
