The Republican Spring
The City History Museum of Barcelona (Catalonia, Spain) has a exhibition called "Republican spring. Barcelona, 1931-1939". With sights, smells and sounds it takes us back 75 years in the city history to experience once again the daily lives of Barcelona people during the Second Republic.
It helps us appreciate their dreams of equality and freedom, of a just society and a better world, without the bourgeoisie or the Church. Dreams shattered by war, exile and dictatorship. The exhibition is one of the acts to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the proclamation of the Republic being promoted by Barcelona City Council.
