the Cathedral of Vasily the Blessed
The Red Square in Moscow (Russia) is famous with brilliant Cathedral of Vasily the Blessed (Cathedral of the Intercession). The Tsar Ivan the Terrible ordered the construction of cathedral in the memory of the seizure of Kazan, the capital of Tatar Khanate, which disturbed Rus by endless raids. The Cathedral was built by Russian architects Barma and Postnik. At right of this cathedral you can see the Spasskaya (Saviour) Tower by Italian architect Pietro Antonio Solari. 1985-08-20.
