Santa María de Mediavilla Cathedral tower
The tower is the oldest element of the Santa María de Mediavilla Cathedral in Teruel (Aragón, Spain), dating from the year 1257, and displaying its Mudéjar origin and brick architecture most clearly. The tower is one of ten Mudéjar monuments of Aragón that form part of UNESCO's World heritage. Mudéjar is the name given to the Moors or Muslims of Al-Andalus, who remained in Christian territory after the Reconquista but were not converted to Christianity. Their distinctive style is evident in architecture as well as the music, art, and crafts. 2006-07-25.
