San Pedro de Siresa
Near Echo in Siresa (Pyrenees of Huesca, Spain), the Royal Monastery is a Romanesque building, built in 1082 because of a supposed Augustinian reform of the Carolingian abbey founded in the 9th century. The church that is now conserved was built in the 11th century. It has Latin cross plan, a deep semicircular vaulted apse and a three-section crossing. It is possible that in this monastery (National Monument) the king of Aragón Alfonso I el Batallador (the Fighter) was christened and brought up. 2003-07-28.
