Rainbow Warrior

The Rainbow Warrior is the most famous Greenpeace ship. The current Rainbow Warrior was launched on 10 July 1989. The original vessel was sunk in 1985 by agents of the French government in an attempt to foil protests of their nuclear weapons testing in the Pacific.

This photo was taken in Bilbao (Basque Country, Spain) on 2009-05-22 and It ‘s my contribution to World Environment Day (commemorated each year on 5 June) one of the principal vehicles through which the United Nations stimulates worldwide awareness of the environment and enhances political attention and action.
