Pyrenees of Huesca, Spain
Montearagón
Three kilometers east of the city of Huesca (Spain), the solitary silhouette of the austere castle-abbey of Montearagón stands out, occupying the entire summit of a high and cleared hill. The castle was constructed in 1086 by King Sancho Ramirez to harass Huesca, in those times Islamic. Restoration work is now being carried out, and the castle can be reached by a track from the main road. 2004-12-30.
