Heiligenkreuz (Holy Cross), in the Vienna Woods (Austria), is known for a famous abbey founded by Duke Leopold III in 1135 for Cistercian monks. The abbey church, with an impressive arcaded courtyard and column of redmarble, has been the object of many a pilgrimage. 1994-07-15.
