This photo was taken in the Barrosa valley (Pyrenees of Huesca, Spain). The valley comes to a head at a glacial cirque, above which are the peaks that form the French border. The easier walk remains on the Spanish side whilst the harder option crosses a high col the frontier ridge at over 2500 metres at the Puerto de Barrosa col. The walk then the descends into France to the Barroude lakes and refuge. 2004-08-28.
