The first centre of population in Getxo (Basque Country, Spain) sprang up around the Church of Andra Mari (Saint Mary) in the 12th century. It largely dates from the 18th century and it is in keeping with the typical Baroque designs of the time in Bizkaia, although some much older details still survive.
